Give From the Heart
If MJO is part of your life, we ask that you consider making it part of your giving.
A new way of supporting our community. Choose what feels right for you this year, and your gift will go directly toward the gatherings, learning, and holidays that bring us together.
"Everyone whose heart so moves him shall bring an offering."
Exodus 35:5
When the community was asked to help build the sanctuary, Moses told them only those whose hearts moved them to generosity should do so.
Instead of building a membership model, we have chosen to ask everyone in our community to support MJO at the level they are able, this year and every year. We chose the word partnership very intentionally. A partner is not simply someone who pays dues to belong. A partner helps shape what this community becomes, alongside all of us. Our community depends on the generosity of those who are able. Give at whatever level feels right, according to what your heart is moved to offer. Every gift goes directly toward supporting our community.

Partnership Brit
A sacred agreement between our partners and our 'ohana
Whatever your path to partnership looks like, and however you are able to give, we ask every partner to enter into the same covenant with this community.
At Maui Jewish 'Ohana, we believe in the sanctity of our community. We invite our partners, whether joining for the first time or renewing, to enter into a Partnership Brit.
A brit is a covenant: an intentional agreement to show up, to contribute, and to understand your role as a partner and stakeholder in this 'ohana. MJO is sustained by the love, creativity, and generosity of our community, expressed through meaningful investments of time, talent, and treasure.
As a Maui Jewish 'Ohana partner, you are called to uphold our community values.
1. Respect for people
We act in a way that honors the physical, emotional, and spiritual safety of all people at every MJO event and gathering. We believe there is no right or wrong way to be Jewish, and we honor different heritages, practices, and beliefs. To be accessible to as many people as possible, our events are scent-free.
2. Respect for our communal spaces
We understand that the spaces we share are sacred. We care for the venues, natural settings, and gathering places that make our community possible.
3. Respect for the land, the 'aina
Caring for the eretz / 'aina / land, and the yam / kai / ocean, is a core value of Maui Jewish 'Ohana. We strive to make every MJO event zero waste, and we ask our partners to join us in that commitment.
4. All hands in
We believe that offering our time, talents, and treasure to this community is vitalizing, meaningful, and essential to our 'ohana's health and growth.
As a Maui Jewish 'Ohana partner, here is how you can show up for this 'ohana:
- Share. Participate in the work of deepening and growing this community.
- Engage. Join in Jewish learning and celebration that awakens the heart and connects us to our roots.
- Lead. Live a life rich in spirituality, service, and justice, here on Maui and beyond.
- Steward. Honor the 'aina by supporting our zero waste commitment at every event.
- Help. Support Maui Jewish 'Ohana's growth and sustainability with your financial partnership.
Partners are asked to affirm this brit upon joining or renewing. We are grateful to walk this path together.
